Spiritual Food

We are divided into spirit, soul, and body. When we believe in Jesus and obey his teachings and truly grasp the love of Jesus Christ shown through the cross, our spirit comes alive and salvation is accomplished.
Just as the body requires food and nourishment, the spirit also requires its sustenance. Today, let us discuss how we can supply the spiritual food needed for our spirit. obedience to God brings light and beauty to your spirit. Every time we follow the will of the Lord, our spirit is filled with joy and begins to flourish in God’s love. It enjoys happiness and health, adorned with spiritual riches, and glorifying God through our actions. Through this, the spirit becomes enriched, healthier, and stronger day by day.
Like daily meals are necessary for the body, there is spiritual food that the spirit needs daily. This includes reading and listening to the Word, praising and worshiping, repenting and forgiving, sharing with others, understanding and humility, obedience to God’s will, demonstrating love, spreading the Gospel, showing grace, being thankful, loving and revering the Lord, and speaking through the Holy Spirit.
However, sin causes the spirit to become sick and weak, leading to its demise.
The Bible addresses the spiritual weakening and destruction caused by sin.
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Galatians 5:19-21   “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
These verses warn about the spiritual weakening and destruction caused by sin. Unforgiveness and harboring grudges cause spiritual suffering and deterioration, while lying and engaging in sinful behaviors lead to distress and torment. Disobedience to God’s Word leads to sadness and spiritual decline. Satan seeks to destroy the spirit, and a lack of prayer and scripture causes spiritual starvation. Alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and similar substances poison the spirit, slowly leading to its demise.
