Many Christians will NOT Enter Heaven

In Jesus Christ, did all sins be forgiven?

Our Lord Jesus Christ died to forgive sins that have been committed in the past, present, and future. Jesus paid the price for our sins as the perfect sacrifice.

All we need is God’s grace

The only thing we need to do is ask for forgiveness. Our Lord Jesus Christ forgave all mankind’s sins by His sacrifice because of God’s grace. As a result of Christ’s redemption, we are no longer obligated to live in our old sinful ways.

We should not, however, take this to mean that we can sin as much as we want and expect to be forgiven. It is still imperative that we repent and live a life consistent with repentance. Repentance produces fruit in keeping with repentance, according to Matthew 3:8. “To repent is to change your ways of thinking,” according to the original meaning of the word.

Christ was crucified for a reason

During the Old Testament, slaughtering animals was a way for people to atone for their sins. It is Jesus who is the lamb of God in the new testament.

It is true that no human was able to pay the price for our sins. We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). As a result of sin, death is the punishment (Romans 6:23). Therefore, we deserve to die for our sins. Nevertheless, Jesus was willing to die on our behalf out of love for us.

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

This is what the gospel is all about! As a result of Jesus’ sacrifice, we do not have to die as a result of our sin! Our sins can be forgiven as long as we repent and ask for forgiveness.

So, it sounds simple, right? Well no, actually it is not.

Matthew 7:21–23 says,

Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?” And then will I declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.”

Jesus doesn’t save anyone by claiming just lordship over him. The way we demonstrate the Lordship of Jesus is by doing the will of his Father. In the absence of these evidences in our lives, we hear the words, “I never knew you.” And then he says, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who builds a house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24). And Jesus also says, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand” (Matthew 7:26). And at the judgment he gets washed away.

In other words, Jesus is simply saying what he says everywhere in the Bible: “If you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive yours.”

In the presence of forgiveness of Jesus, there is overflowing forgiveness

Jesus Christ shed his blood for our forgiveness, and if the forgiveness we have received is so effective in our hearts that we love others and do not hold any grudges and bitterness against others, we are saved and we are a good tree. But if the forgiveness of Jesus is so ineffective in our hearts that we still hold unforgiving grudges and bitterness an hate against others, we are not a good tree. This proves we don’t have a chance at salvation. It means we don’t trust God’s forgiveness and we don’t cherish it. We don’t treasure and embrace this forgiveness of Jesus.

Let’s face it, we’re hypocrites. All we’re doing is mouthing. Our hearts haven’t experienced the joy and piercing wonder of God paying the price for his Son. It’s hard to hold a grudge against someone when I’ve never been offended nearly as much as God has – so highly that he has to pay the price for my forgiveness with his Son.
