There’s a test that you can take as a Christian to determine whether or not you’re a genuine Christian. You and only God will know the results of this simple test. So don’t worry. Here is the test. As a Christian belonging to a Church, some of you may have been given the gift of being able to speak in tongue, heal people, preach like angel, be able to show insight into God’s Word, pray powerfully, have the opportunity to make huge sacrifice and visit and experience the spiritual realm as if it were your own living room.
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 1 Co 13:1-3
Accordingly, 1 John 4:8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Do you see it? Some people can look like they’re remarkably gifted in the things of Christ.
But what you won’t find in a counterfeit is love. Authentic, real love of Christ. Not just love for family and friends, but also love for your enemies. Many times, we use fake love to promote ourselves, gain power, control, and worship lust.
You will know them by their fruits (Matthew 7:16). It’s not so much by their words, although we do need to consider words, but by the produce they bear. One thing such a tree will never have is love.
And what is love? According to Bible, the definition of love is that
1 Co 13:4-6 Love is patient. Love is kind. It does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Test results show you don’t have love. Results may shock you as I was also very shocked of my result.
I’m sorry you don’t love, but I want to congratulate you for being honest with yourself because many of us won’t deal with the scary truth.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
As it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;
The Bible says we’re wicked sinners. No love for Jesus, no love for others, no love for the enemy. Fortunately, there is a solution to our problem. The best news is yet to come. We ask God to give us the gift of love. According to Bible,
Matthew 7:7
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 21:22
And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”
As the Bible speaks of God’s promise to you, if you ask Jesus to grant you love and ask him with all your heart, he will give you all the love you need. We need to believe that if you truly want to receive his Love that will replace your heart.
